Kinetic Safety is seeking an experienced and hands-on full time Field Supervisor to support our growing operations in Bonnyville and the surrounding region. The successful candidate must live in Bonnyville AB or within daily commuting distance.

This is a leadership role for someone who enjoys being in the field, supporting employees, building client relationships, and helping drive operational excellence across the organization. The successful candidate will serve as a visible leadership presence for our field teams, ensuring projects are executed safely, professionally, and efficiently.

We are looking for someone who leads by example, builds credibility with crews, and isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves when needed.

Responsibilities

Field Leadership & Employee Development

• Provide day-to-day leadership, mentorship, and support to field employees.
• Be present onsite for all jobs, guiding staff and troubleshooting issues in real-time.
• Reinforce company expectations related to safety, professionalism, attendance, and client service.
• Coach employees and identify opportunities for growth and development.
• Support onboarding and training of new field personnel.

Operational Support

• Work closely with dispatch and leadership to support successful job execution.
• Assist with job mobilization, staffing, and resource planning.
• Monitor field performance and identify operational improvement opportunities.
• Troubleshoot field challenges and provide solutions in real time.
• Perform field work as needed when field employees are unavailable.

Safety Leadership

• Promote and uphold Kinetic Safety's safety culture and standards.
• Participate in field inspections, audits, and incident investigations.
• Ensure work is completed in compliance with client requirements and regulatory expectations.
• Lead by example in all aspects of safety performance.

Client Relationships

• Develop and maintain strong working relationships with client representatives.
• Serve as a field-level point of contact during project execution.
• Support the delivery of exceptional client service and responsiveness.
• Identify opportunities to strengthen existing client relationships.

Qualifications

Technical Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in industrial safety services, including with safety watch, confined space monitoring, atmospheric testing, breathing air trailers/systems, rescue services, and related industrial safety services.
• Must hold H2S Alive, Standard First Aid/CPR, CSO, Confined Space Entry & Monitor, and Confined Space Rescue tickets.
• Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence with a clean driving record.

• Minimum 2+ years of experience leading / supervising field personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as a safety leader, advocating for a strong safety culture among workers, supervisors, subcontractors, and clients.
• Monitor worksite activities to ensure adherence to Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) legislation, client safety programs, and company-specific policies.
• Engage in site operations and planning to proactively integrate safety considerations into daily tasks.
• Identify and address non-compliance issues, offering practical solutions to align with safety regulations and best practices.
• Intervene in unsafe work practices and conditions, taking immediate action to promote a safe working environment.
• Conduct safety audits and inspections, documenting findings and recommending corrective actions.
• Participate in incident investigations, providing insights on root causes and preventative measures.
• Track and follow up on corrective actions stemming from investigations, audits, and hazard reports.
• Lead and contribute to safety meetings, ensuring key safety topics are effectively communicated.
• Stay informed of regulatory updates and industry best practices to maintain compliance and enhance workplace safety.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Minimum 8+ years of experience in a safety advisory role, preferably in oil & gas, civil construction, or plant operations.
• Must have certification as National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO), Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP), or Occupational Health and Safety Certificate/Diploma.
• Willingness to work across Western Canada, work at camp-based sites, work outdoors, travel to remote locations as needed, and adapt to rotational schedules.
• Must hold valid H2S Alive, Standard First Aid/CPR, and CSO certifications.
• A valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
• Strong working knowledge of Alberta OH&S legislation and industry-specific safety requirements.
• Ability to build rapport with field crews, communicate effectively, and influence safe behaviors.
• Must be comfortable with using computers and technology as part of your work scope.

Role: Safety Technician

Responsibilities:

• Perform on-site safety watch, confined space entry watch, atmospheric testing, spark/fire watch, and area gas detection to maintain a safe working environment.
• Oversee confined space activities to ensure compliance with safety procedures and manage entry records meticulously.
• Assist in the preparation of required paperwork for confined space entry, including hazard assessments and entry/tool logs.
• Maintain detailed records of entry conditions, personnel entries and exits, and atmospheric readings.
• Conduct required gas testing at specified intervals to ensure safe atmospheric conditions.
• Ensure all procedures, policies, rules, and permit requirements are strictly followed for work in confined spaces.
• Actively participate in safety meetings and toolbox talks to promote a culture of inclusivity and safety.
• Assist in operating and cleaning respiratory protective equipment.
• Provide support to ensure that all personnel on-site work safely and comply with company and regulatory requirements for Occupational Health & Safety.
• Follow and advocate for all rules, policies, and procedures as per the client’s health and safety program, Kinetic Safety’s HSE program and all applicable legislation.

Qualifications:

• Must reside in Bonnyville AB or live within daily commuting distance
• Minimum required safety tickets include H2S Alive, Intermediate First Aid, Confined Space Entry & Monitor, and Common Safety Orientation (CSO)
• 1+ years experience as a safety technician, safety watch, or confined space watch in the oil and gas industry is an asset
• A valid Canadian Driver’s License with a clean driving record is an asset
